Employees of Bob's Discount Furniture did a double take when opening their paychecks last week. All 1,500 active employees throughout the chain received an extra $50 to help take the sting out of fueling up their cars. Gene Martin, an employee of Bob's was quoted as saying "my initial reaction was they made a mistake in my paycheck, and then I realized what they actually had done!" "I was surprised and appreciative!" When asking President Bob Kaufman why they had decided to give this gift, Kaufman's reply was, "It just was the right thing to do" The company, which has stores in Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut, will soon be opening two showrooms in New Jersey,. Totowa will be opened October 6th and Paramus in January 2006.
